PROJECT 04 // DIGITAL AUDIO & SYNTHESIS

Signal DSP

A collection of effects, synthesis experiments, and performance tools built to make sound do things air and wood were never going to do on their own -- spatial, tactile, and slightly impossible.

STATUS ActivePROGRESS 64%

Purpose

Sound is physics before it is music: motion, material, and space, vibrating. Signal DSP is a practical playground for taking that physics seriously and then bending it somewhere a room could never go on its own -- a place to translate ideas about motion, material, and space directly into tools a performer can actually play.

Audio goals

  • Musical controls with broad useful ranges
  • Modulation that remains visible and understandable
  • Low-latency processing suitable for performance
  • Character without needless noise or instability

Experiment direction

The working direction includes nonlinear delay networks, animated spectral filtering, spatial feedback, and interfaces that communicate sound behavior without pretending audio is simple.

Current evidence boundary

Signal DSP is an active project description, not a published performance claim. Until a source repository, build, recordings, or measurements are linked here, the listed mechanisms should be read as the current investigation plan.

Key terms, in plain language

You do not need a systems background to follow the work. These are the specialized terms used on this page.
